DS Smith European Commission Clearance

The European Commission competition authority today approved the acquisition by DS Smith Plc of SCA Packaging (excluding its two kraftliner mills), as first announced on 17 January 2012. The clearance requires DS Smith to divest three sites after the acquisition, currently representing approximately 1% of the enlarged Group profit.
